A Set of 12 Planished Export Plates by Thomas Powell - SOLD

A spectacular set of 12 Planished Export Plates by Thomas Powell who worked in London from 1676-1715. This set with single reed rim would date c-1705-15. First it is truly amazing to find an original set of 12 plates of this period that have remained together.

Aside from the fact that a set of this period and size are a scarcity these plates show the talents of the finest of hammermen. They are planished all over their surfaces. Absolutely stunning.

In fine condition with fine marks showing very few blemishes. These would be a beautiful addition to any collection of Export Flatware. The plates measure 8 15/16" in diameter.
