An 18th Century Salt With Bulbous Cup - SOLD

An 18th Century Salt With Bulbous Cup

This open 18th century salt with bulbous cup is likely English. This is very similar to those made by Thomas Danforth II in Middletown, CT.

The salt is in very good to fine condition. Lathe marks clearly show on the underside of the base.

The cup is lightly pitted, a result of the corrosive nature of salt.

The salt measures 1 5/8" tall. The top diameter is 2 3/8" and the bottom diameter is 2 1/8"
