A Fine 6 1/8" Pewter Plate by Blakeslee Barns

A 6 1/8” single reed rim plate by Blakeslee Barns who worked in Philadelphia from 1812-17. Barns shared this location with Thomas Danforth III who not only worked in Rocky Hill Connecticut but also in Philadelphia at the same time.

This plate is near fine. Lathe marks show on the well and the rim of the plate, as well as the back of the plate. The touch is very fine and well struck.

Small plates marked by makers are not very common this is a nice example.
