A Hitherto Unrecorded William Will Cream Pot - SOLD

A Hitherto Unrecorded William Will Cream Pot

Hitherto unrecorded cream pitcher form from the shop of William Will. This creamer utilizes the “Will Narrow Neck Salt” as the base of the pitcher. The handle is one Will used on most of his salt-based creamers.

The distinct difference with this example is the upper portion of the body. This example has an elongated undifferentiated waist when compared to other salt foot-based examples. The sides of the upper body are slightly concave. Most other example have an upper body with a slenderer curvaceous “waist” in the upper section.

To my knowledge this is the first such example known.

This creamer is decorated with the bottom edge of the foot being beaded. The upper lip of the body has a very fine beading resembling more of a rope design rather than a distinct bead.
