A bossed basin bowl porringer by Thomas D. Boardman and his brother Sherman Boardman. The bowl of this porringer measures 4 1/16” in diameter with an overall length including the ear of 5 7/8”.
The porringer is in near mint condition with a very few minor blemishes. The lathe marks show clearly with some lathe chatter on the inside of the bowl. The lathe marks on the back of the porringer are sharp. The touch is perfectly struck on the ear (handle). There is a clear linen mark.
It would be hard to find a finer example.
