A Very Scarce Example of a Frederick Bassett Large Old English Handled Porringer

5” Old English Handled Porringer by Frederick Bassett working 1761-1799.
Bassett began his trade in NYC from 1761-1780. He then moved to Hartford, Connecticut where he working until 1785 after which he returned to NYC working until 1799.

This porringer has the “classic New York” broad Old English Handle. Marked on the back of the handle in the 18th century fashion. In period porringer handles were known as “ears”.
