This unmarked American Swivel Lamp is a very attractive example. The double stepped base has a yoke attached to hold the font. The lamp retains its original burner complete with extinguisher caps. The wicks are also present.
Frequently, collectors mis identify swivel lamps as gimbal lamps. A gimbal lamp has two rings that allow the font to find a level position no matter what angle the base is at. This lamp can be placed on a table, carried using the finger ring or hung from a wall by the small brass loop and used as a sconce.
This is in fine condition. Note the casting fault in the photo of the underside of the base... mass production led to minor defects being “close enough for government work”.
